Integrated Eftpos

Integrated Eftpos means an Eftpos terminal has a direct connection to a Point Of Sale system.

The Eftpos becomes a slave of the POS System and the input of dollar amounts and all functions come from the POS.

Integrated also means that the totals on the POS always balance with the EFTPOS End of Day settlements.

The Integrated Eftpos solution will work with a range of existing software and hardware configurations and the POS software provider has to be certified by the Eftpos software provider.

Integrated Vs Interfaced Eftpos

Interfaced is a level below Integrated – Interfaced Eftpos is where you have two way or one-way comms from the cash register or POS system to the Eftpos terminal, BUT the Eftpos can be used independently of the POS or cash register also.

One-way interfaced comms will mean that the POS or cash register does not know if the transaction was accepted or not and totals can be wrong if staff are not checking transactions.

Two-way interfaced coms mean that if a transaction is accepted or not, it is messaged from the EFTPOS to the cash register or POS system, BUT the Eftpos could still be used manually separated from the POS.

Integrated Eftpos incurs ongoing fees from providers, but two-way or one-way do not.
